Children do their homework regularly and have extra help to do better at school, and learn to use a computer at home. Parents learn too, so they can keep in touch with the school.

A community that helps you find your feet
The Eritrean Islamic Community of Waterloo Region has supported Eritrean families here for more than fifteen years: tutoring and mentoring for children, sport for young people, guidance for students choosing a path, and help for newcomers settling in.

Community sponsorship and settlement
The community helps members sponsor family and friends through the community-based refugee sponsorship programme, and helps newcomers navigate local systems.
