The Eritrean Islamic Community of Waterloo Region has supported Eritrean families here for more than fifteen years: tutoring and mentoring for children, sport for young people, guidance for students choosing a path, and help for newcomers settling in.

What the community runs

For children

Tutoring and mentoring

Children do their homework regularly and have extra help to do better at school, and learn to use a computer at home. Parents learn too, so they can keep in touch with the school.

Weekly physical fitness and sports, including winter indoor soccer. We encourage members and youth to join, for health and vitality.
